Ajie is the founder of a smart wearables brand in Shenzhen. He needed a precision mold for the housing of their newly developed smartwatch. He requested quotes from four mold shops. Their lead times ranged from 30 to 35 days, and prices from ¥60,000 to ¥80,000. Ajie did the math: 30 days for the mold, 10 days for trial production and testing, plus 15 days for packaging and logistics – the product wouldn't hit the shelves for two months. For a fast-moving category like smart wearables, two months could mean falling half a generation behind.

Ajie wanted to compress the timeline, but every shop told him, "30 days is already the fastest we can do." Frustrated, he even considered using a soft tool for an initial batch to meet demand. But a soft tool lasts only a few thousand shots – far from sufficient for mass production. His partner suggested looking further. While searching online for "rapid molds," they came across a Fengchuang Plastics case study – "Mold delivery in as few as 13 days."

That afternoon, Ajie visited Fengchuang's factory. He was greeted by the technical director of the mold division – a man in his fifties with graying hair. Ajie handed over the drawings. The director studied them for ten minutes, then began a discussion. He suggested converting the mold structure from a three-plate mold to a two-plate mold, eliminating one mold-opening action. He also proposed replacing some sliders with lifters to simplify the design further. Ajie hesitated, worried that simplifying would compromise precision. The technical director said, "Trust me – I've been in molds for 23 years. Precision isn't about complexity; it's about how accurately every single component is made."

Ajie gritted his teeth and approved the modifications. Thirteen days later, the mold was mounted on the machine. During the first trial run, parts came out. Ajie measured ten critical dimensions with a caliper – every single one was within tolerance. He crouched down, examined the parts for a long time, then stood up, shook the technical director's hand, and said, "At this speed and quality – I'm convinced."

Today, that smartwatch housing is used in Ajie's flagship product. After launch, sales exceeded expectations. Ajie later calculated: 17 days faster than the other shops. The product hit the market two weeks early, just in time for the Double 11 (Singles' Day) stocking period, leading to over 8,000 additional units sold. "A 13-day mold helped me earn nearly two million yuan more," he says. Even more satisfying: in mass production, Fengchuang's mold achieved a cycle time of 22 seconds – three seconds faster than similar molds produced by other shops he had worked with. That means nearly 400 extra housings per day.

A 30-day mold cycle is too long for consumer electronics housings. Fengchuang delivers in 13 days – getting you to Double 11 and every peak sales season.
