Coil inductance is the same, the smaller the DC resistance, the higher the Q value; the larger the diameter of the wire used, the larger the Q value; if the use of multi-stranded wire winding, the more the number of strands of wire, the higher the Q value; coil skeleton (or core) the smaller the loss of materials used, the higher the Q value. For example, when the core is made of high silicon silicon steel sheet, its Q value is higher than that when the core is made of ordinary silicon steel sheet; the smaller the distribution capacitance of the coil and the leakage magnetism are, the higher its Q value is. For example, the coil of the honeycomb winding method, its Q value is higher than the flat winding, higher than the chaotic winding; coil without shielding, no metal components around the installation location, its Q value is higher, on the contrary, the Q value is lower. The closer the shield or metal components are to the coil, the more serious the reduction of its Q. For high-frequency coils with magnetic cores, their Q is higher than that of the sky core; the smaller the loss of the core is, the higher its Q is.
In the power supply filter used in the low-frequency current-blocking coil, the size of its Q value is not too important, while the size of the inductance L has a greater impact on the filtering effect. Note that the low-frequency current-blocking coil in use, more through the larger DC, in order to prevent magnetic saturation, the core requirements of the smooth insertion, so that it has a large air gap.
