The working principle application fields and methods for judging the quality of the electromagnetic valve coil


The electromagnetic valve coil is a key component of the electromagnetic valve. It is usually made by winding copper or aluminum conductive materials onto an iron core. The electromagnetic valve coils produced by Golden Eagle Electronics feature fast response speed, high control accuracy, and strong reliability.


Working principle:


When the electromagnetic valve coil is connected to the power supply, the current flows through the wires in the coil. According to the principle of electromagnetic induction, the current will generate a magnetic field around the wires. The magnetic lines of force will be distributed in a circular pattern around the wires. The coil is usually made by winding multiple turns of wires. The magnetic fields produced by each turn of wire will superimpose on each other, thereby forming a stronger and directionally consistent magnetic field inside the coil. The strength of this magnetic field is proportional to the number of turns of the coil and the current passing through it. When the electromagnetic valve coil is energized, the coil generates a magnetic field, attracting or repelling the cooperating valve core and other components, thereby controlling the opening and closing of the valve and achieving control of the flow (such as gas or liquid) on and off, and flow rate, etc. When the electromagnetic valve coil is de-energized, the current disappears, and according to the law of electromagnetic induction, the magnetic field will also disappear rapidly. At this time, under the action of spring force or other reset devices, the iron core or valve core and other components will return to their initial position, and the valve will return to its original closed or open state, completing a working cycle.


Application fields:


Fluid control: In the chemical and petroleum industries, it is used to control the on-off of various corrosive and viscous fluids, precisely regulate the flow rate of the fluids, and ensure the accurate transportation of materials and the proper progress of reactions during the production process.


Pneumatic system: In the pneumatic actuators of the automated production line, the electromagnetic valve coil controls the flow and on-off of compressed air, enabling the extension and rotation of the mechanical arm, thereby enhancing the level of production automation.


Petroleum and natural gas: During the extraction and transportation of oil and gas, it is used for the control of wellhead equipment and pipeline valves to achieve remote operation and automated management, thereby enhancing production safety and efficiency.


Electric power industry: In the steam inlet and drainage systems of steam turbines in thermal power generation, as well as the speed control systems of hydroelectric turbines, the flow of steam and water is controlled to ensure the stable operation of power generation equipment.


HVAC: In a central air conditioning system, the flow of chilled water, hot water, and cooling water is controlled, and the indoor temperature and humidity are adjusted to achieve energy conservation and comfortable environmental control.


Medical devices: In medical equipment such as ventilators and anesthesia machines, they control the gas flow and pressure to provide precise respiratory support and anesthesia gas delivery for patients.


Pharmaceutical equipment: In the process of drug production, such as ingredient mixing and filling, it controls the flow and measurement of the liquid, ensuring the quality and precision of the drug production.


The method for judging good or bad:


The resistance value of the electromagnetic valve coil varies due to various factors. The common normal resistance value is generally between several tens of ohms and several thousand ohms. The resistance of the electromagnetic valve coil can be measured using the resistance setting on a multimeter. The resistance value of the small general-purpose electromagnetic valve coil is usually between 100 ohms and 1000 ohms. The resistance value of the large industrial electromagnetic valve coil is relatively lower, usually between 20 ohms and 500 ohms. The special electromagnetic valve coil used in high-temperature environments has a relatively higher resistance value to ensure performance and safety. It is usually between 1000 ohms and 5000 ohms or even higher. If the meter shows infinity or is very close to 0, it indicates that the coil is short-circuited and cannot be used.
